With these events, runners start off together around a 1km grass track on the sporting ground for exactly one hour (or half an hour as the case many be). Each runner has a lap scorer (please bring one with you), who counts how many laps each runner completes. The gun is fired with one minute to go and at the end of the hour (or half hour). The clock is stationed at the start (at the end of each kilometre) so that you can see how fast you are doing each kilometre.
At the end of the hour (or half hour) everyone stops exactly where they are when the final gun goes off and the scorers measure the distance from the lap marker with a measuring wheel. For participants in the half hour, when your finish gun goes off, please move to the inside of the and wait there until the scorers come around to measure your distance from the lap marker. If you plan on running this event, please bring along a lap scorer - without the lap scorers it is not possible to have a run!
