Date: 26th December 2001. (the day after!)
Time: 10.00 am (allows time to clear the head!)
Race Director: WAMC Committee 9472 4833
Venue: Hyde Park, Vincent Street, North Perth
Distance: As far as you can go.
Course: Laps of Hyde Park Lakes - all bitumen
Drinks: Grab one when you can.
A great way to burn off some of those Christmas dinner calories and get rid of that alcohol in your bloodstream! Runners are grouped into teams of two depending on your 10km time - a slow person with a fast person.
You and your team mate then introduce yourselves and the first runner runs around the lakes and then tags the second runner, who follows the same course to tag the first runner again. Each lap is 872metres, but feels much, much longer. The gun is fired with one minute to go (at 29 minutes). At the end of 30 minutes everyone stops exactly where they are when the final gun goes off and the scorers measure the distance from the lap marker with a measuring wheel. PLEASE bring your own lap scorer.
